Slippery elm bark is a natural anti-inflammatory. It helps the irritated gastrointestinal tract, relieves respiratory problems and can even alleviate toothache.
The bark is obtained from the North American red elm (Ulmus rubra), which is also known as “slippery elm”. The red elm owes this nickname to its uniquely enthusiastic production of mucilage, which consists of polysaccharides. It is precisely this mucilage that unfolds its calming effect in the dog’s body by laying protectively over the stomach lining.

Single food for dogs

Ingredients: 100 % elm bark from the American red elm, gently dried and finely ground. Acts as a natural anti-inflammatory and protects the sensitive stomach lining due to its consistency.

Analytical constituents: Crude fibre 33.0 %

Application

Stir 1-2 teaspoons of elm bark powder into 100 – 200 ml of water and gently bring to the boil. Remove from the heat and allow to cool to room temperature.
In order for the mucilage to develop its protective effect, it should be fed pure and 30 minutes before the meal. If the dog is given medication, the elm bark can influence the absorption of the active ingredient.
